Fall Rally to Raise Funds for

One Safe Place

A ‘2x4’ Fall Run through northern Illinois and into Wisconsin will raise funds for One Safe Place, the transitional living program for battered women and their children currently under construction by A Safe Place/ Lake County Crisis Center.  Motorcycles and autos alike are welcomed to register for the October 16 event which will launch at 10 a.m. from Pleviak School in Lake Villa (corner of Rte. 83 and Grand Ave.)

Drivers and each passenger pay an entry fee of $25 for the ride through the brilliant fall colors which concludes with a delightful lunch (included in the entry fee). Sponsors for the event include the WirelessFamily Network and The Vision Tree.

To ride or reserve a place for lunch, call 847.356.7550, email: infor@the visiontree.com, or mail your registration form  to One Safe Place, Attn: Joanne Osmond, 216 Waterbury Circle, Lake Villa, IL 60046.  Be sure to list the driver and all passengers and include registration fees for each.  Please make your check out to A Safe Place.

One Safe Place will be Lake County’s first transitional living program for battered women and their children. The secure, 20-unit apartment building will be complete with counseling and other supportive services designed to empower survivors of domestic violence to create new lives of safety and self-sufficiency for themselves and their children.  The project is currently under construction in the Zion area and will be available for occupancy in the spring of 2005.
