Elections to the Board of Directors were held and new officers named at the 25th Anniversary Celebration and Annual Meeting of A Safe Place/ Lake County Crisis Center Monday, October 17, 2005, at the Crowne Plaza, Mundelein.
Newly-elected board members include: Silvia Vazquez-Chacon, agent, American Family Insurance; Moira MacGregor, Managing Director, Resources Global Professionals; Delaine Rogers, Director of Economic Development, City of Zion; and the Hon. Joseph Waldeck, Associate Circuit Judge, 19th Judicial Circuit Court of Lake County.
Elected to their second term on the nonprofit board were Joanne Esplin, Owner, Citinet Travel; Kathryn Keenan, President, BenchStrength; Mary Penich, First Assistant Regional Superintendent of Schools, Lake County Regional Office of Education; Mary Stanton, Chief, Misdemeanor Division, Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office; and Lauren Turelli, Real Estate Agent, Baird & Warner.
Beginning additional terms on the board of directors are Joan Gilmore, Director, Allstate Insurance Cos.; and Betty Toser, community volunteer.
Officers chosen for the 2005-06 fiscal year are: President, Darryl Cheeks, President & CEO, The Chicagoland Companies; Vice President; Mary Stanton, Chief, Misdemeanor Division, Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office; Treasurer, Mark Leopold, Deputy General Counsel, Household International; and Secretary, Peter Esteve, Human Resources Director, Abbott Laboratories.
Members completing their terms of service on the board were Lois J. Ford, Abbott Laboratories, retired; Robbie Ford, Abbott Laboratories; and Beth E. Ragsdale, First Midwest Bank N.A.
Other members of A Safe Place’s Board of Directors include Bradley J. Black, Vice President of Finance, Food Service Professionals/ Ceres Food Group Inc.; Robert Boyle, Vice President, Billing Services, Zurich North America; Byron J. Prais, President, Byron J.
