A Safe Place to Celebrate Opening Doors for Domestic Violence Survivors
Join A Safe Place/ Lake County Crisis Center at the nonprofit agency’s Annual Meeting Monday, October 16, to celebrate expanded services now offered to battered women and their children in Lake County and to recognize communities, businesses and individuals whose support makes these services possible.
“Open Doors,” the theme of this year’s event, will showcase the early successes of A Safe Place’s affordable housing and transitional living program, opened in March of this year. Other highlights of the evening will include announcement of the 2006 Purple Ribbon Communities, selected for their support of informational and prevention education programs locally, and award presentations to outstanding community organizations, businesses and individuals who support A Safe Place’s mission to eliminate domestic violence.

A Safe Place/ Lake County Crisis Center annually serves more than 3,300 Lake County area residents with comprehensive domestic violence services including emergency/temporary shelter, affordable housing, individual and group counseling, children’s counseling, non-legal court advocacy, and case management. A wide arrange of informational and professional training programs, including prevention education for children from elementary through secondary grades are available to the community.
