15th Annual Candle Lighting

Please join us on Thursday, October 4th for the 15th annual Candle Lighting Ceremony!   October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and to honor survivors of domestic violence and pay tribute to those who have lost their lives at the hands of their abusers, A Safe Place holds a candle lighting vigil.  The ceremony will take place from 5:30-6:30pm outside of the Waukegan City Hall at 100 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. in Waukegan, and will include a singing performance, speakers from throughout Lake County, the Silent Witness Project, a survivor speak-out, the Clothesline Project, and of course, the candle lighting vigil.   This is a great opportunity to witness the community coming together in the effort to eliminate domestic violence from our community, so we hope to see you there!   For questions, please call Liz Fales at (847)731-7165.

We need your help! Please join us in making this event memorable for the victims and survivors of domestic violence by donating items from our Wish List.  A Safe Place greatly appreciates your generosity and support.
