17th Annual Candle Lighting Ceremony

You are invited to join us on Thursday, October 1st for the 17th annual Candle Lighting Ceremony. Each year during October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, A Safe Place hosts a moving and inspirational candle lighting vigil to honor survivors of domestic violence and pay tribute to those who have lost their lives at the hands of their abusers. This year’s ceremony will take place from 5:30 to -6:30 pm at Waukegan City Hall. The event will include community choir performances, speakers, a display of the Silent Witness Project, survivors speak-out, an exhibit of the Clothesline Project, and the candle lighting vigil.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join with A Safe Place and come together with others in the community to speak out against domestic violence and join the effort to eliminate domestic violence from our community. Please show your support of domestic violence victims by attending. For more information, please contact Kate Cothell at kcothell@asafeplaceforhelp.org, or call (847) 731-7165 x 108.
