Crisis Line

Position Title: Crisis Line Volunteer

Reports to: Crisis Line Specialist

Overview of Position: Volunteers answer the 24 hour helpline and provide referrals and information related to family violence. They determine the caller's eligibility for services, schedule appointments, complete intake paperwork, and open the client's record. Opportunities available on all shifts.

 

Children's Program

Position Title: Residential Children's Tutor

Reports to: Coordinator of Counseling Services

Overview of Position: Provide after school tutoring/homework assistance for residential children.

 

Position Title: Residential Children's Group Co-Facilitator

Reports to: Coordinator of Counseling Services

Overview of Position: Provide assistance to group facilitators with set-up, planning and co-facilitating groups, and at times, provide coverage for staff facilitator as needed.

 

Position Title: Residential Group Assistant

Reports to: Coordinator of Housing Services

Overview of Position: Set-up, plan, and co-facilitate groups; and, at times, provide coverage for staff facilitator as needed.

 

Position Title: Residential Mentor

Reports to: Coordinator of Housing Services

Overview of Position: Provide support and positive role modeling for clients and their children.

 

Non-Residential

Position Title: Non-Residential Support Group Co-Facilitator

Reports to: Coordinator of Counseling Services

Overview of Position: Provide assistance to group facilitators with set-up, planning, and co-facilitating groups; and, at times, provide coverage for staff facilitator at area support groups as needed.

 

A Safe Room/D-100

Position Title: Court Advocate

Reports to: Legal Advocacy Coordinator

Overview of Position: Provide information and advocacy to victims of domestic violence at A Safe Room located in the Lake County Courthouse. Assist clients with preparations necessary to obtain an order of protection.

 

Administrative/Clerical/Maintenance

Position Title: Receptionist

Reports to: Executive Assistant

Overview of Position: Provide coverage for the reception desk by answering incoming calls, particularly those coming through the business line, screen and greet clients and visitors who come to the door, and assist staff with clerical work as needed.

 

Position Title: Volunteer Data Entry Assistant

Reports to: Executive Assistant

Overview of Position: Provide assistance maintaining A Safe Place records for accurate and timely computer data entry for client information and services.

 

Position Title: Filing Assistant

Reports to: Coordinator of Housing Services

Overview of Position: Provide assistance maintaining A Safe Place records by filing, organizing, and destroying documents as needed.

 

 

Community Outreach, Education, Prevention

Position Title: Speaker's Bureau Member-Professional

Reports to: Education Specialist

Overview of Position: Provide information at specialized domestic violence workshops and trainings to police officers, medical personnel, members of the clergy, social workers, and other interested professionals. Requires concentrated training in regards to the agency and its services.

 

Family Visitation Center

Position Title: Clerical Volunteer

Reports to: Family Visitation Director

Overview of Position: Assist with answering the phones, entering data, filing, and performing other related clerical tasks as needed.

 

Position Title: Visitation Supervision Assistant

Reports to: Family Visitation Director

Overview of Position: Assist staff with tasks related to supervised visits and monitored custody exchanges including signing up clients, monitoring security cameras, and interacting with children as they wait for their supervised visits, exchange or orientation.
