Domestic Violence Shelter

A Safe Place provides shelter, court advocacy, referrals and comprehensive counseling programs for victims of domestic violence - women and children who have been physically, verbally, or emotionally abused. 

Emergency Shelter Shelter stays are available to women and their children who must seek safety from their abusers while they develop plans to lead violence-free lives.		Counseling Both individual and group counseling services are available to women and their children residing at A Safe Place, as well as to nonresidential clients. Transitional Living
24-Hour Help Line Staff and trained volunteers offer immediate counseling and support to victims of domestic abuse using our dedicated crisis lines available both in English and in Spanish. Safety Facts & Tips		A Safe Place provides affordable and safe housing to help victims of domestic violence begin new, violence-free lives and gain independence.   Advocacy  Our staff advocates on behalf of women and children in the areas of housing, employment, education, public assistance. Our Court Advocacy Program also assists victims of domestic violence.
Learn safety planning tips to protect yourself from abuse and read facts and articles about domestic violence. Education Our staff offers community, prevention and professional education to increase awareness about domestic violence.		How You Can Help Make a donation, fill out our volunteer application form, schedule an informational program about domestic violence, subscribe to our newsletter, or refer a friend to this site!

Friends of a Safe Place welcomes those who would like to join them in helping to support A Safe Place.   Friends of a Safe Place raises funds to help continue programs such as the 24 hour hot line, emergency shelter, interim housing, counseling, support groups, court advocacy programs, and abuse prevention education for children and adults.  Whatever talents and time you have available -- from stuffing envelopes to planning special events -- you will be warmly welcomed!  For further information, please email nmoore@asafeplaceforhelp.org.
