A Safe Place
Lake County Crisis Center
Domestic Violence Shelter

A Safe Place provides shelter, court advocacy, referrals and comprehensive counseling programs for victims of domestic violence - women and children who have been physically, verbally, or emotionally abused. 

Emergency Shelter

Shelter stays are available to women and their children who must seek safety from their abusers while they develop plans to lead violence-free lives.

Counseling

Both individual and group counseling services are available to women and their children residing at A Safe Place, as well as to nonresidential clients.

Transitional Living

24-Hour Help Line

Staff and trained volunteers offer immediate counseling and support to victims of domestic abuse using our dedicated crisis lines available both in English and in Spanish.

Safety Facts & Tips

A Safe Place provides affordable and safe housing to help victims of domestic violence begin new, violence-free lives and gain independence.  

Advocacy 

Our staff advocates on behalf of women and children in the areas of housing, employment, education, public assistance. Our Court Advocacy Program also assists victims of domestic violence.

Learn safety planning tips to protect yourself from abuse and read facts and articles about domestic violence.

Education

Our staff offers community, prevention and professional education to increase awareness about domestic violence.

Join us for a special opportunity to come inside A Safe Place and learn more about our programs that help our clients to transform their lives after domestic violence. You will meet members of our board of directors and staff who will share a few of the stories of remarkable change from our 30-year history. We hope to see you at one of these engaging events.
