Volunteer Handymen (and Women!)Needed to Paint and Repair over Summer Months

A Safe Place/ Lake County Crisis Center is looking for volunteers, individuals as well as groups, who can devote some time, from a few hours to a few days, to the nonprofit agency this summer doing painting and repair work.

The agency, which provides comprehensive services to battered women and their children from Lake, McHenry and northern Cook counties, is currently building Lake County’s first transitional living program to serve survivors of domestic violence. In preparation for some offices to move to the new location in Zion later in the summer, general repairs and sprucing up of the present office and services location are being scheduled.

Dates have been identified in mid July and August as well as the second half of September when volunteer assistance is needed.   Employee groups from area businesses, civic groups and faith communities are welcome.   If you are interested and wish further information, please contact Stefanie Boyce, Community Outreach and Volunteer Specialist at 847.249.5147.
