Watching One Safe Place Become a Reality
The road a battered woman must take to create a life of self-sufficiency, free from violence, is a journey of many small steps. With the completion of One Safe Place, Lake County's first transitional living program for battered women and their children, in late spring 2005, A Safe Place will remove one of the largest barriers for survivors of domestic violence: finding post-emergency shelter housing that is safe, affordable and supportive.
Women who have survived the ordeal of domestic violence and have taken the courageous step to leave an abusive environment no longer will have to choose between returning to their abuser or becoming homeless.
Come join with A Safe Place as we take our journey to create One Safe Place!
