A Safe Place Launches Web Site

A Safe Place/ Lake County Crisis Center has launched its web site www.asafeplaceforhelp.org to provide service information for victims of domestic violence as well as to serve as a resource for comprehensive information on the issue of domestic abuse.

The site was made possible through the donation of services by two prominent web professional firms. Grantastic Designs Inc, located in Dundee-Elgin, and operated by owners Grant and Shari Crowell, provided for all web design, development and marketing services for the web site pro-bono for A Safe Place. Grantastic Designs is recognized as the top web search engine marketing firm in Illinois and is one of the top such firms nationwide, showing a 100% success rate in increasing targeted visitor traffic for its clients. Information about Grantastic Designs can be found at their own web site http://www.grantasticdesigns.com/.

Position Pro, a web submission and analysis company located in Geneva, is also waiving its fees for submitting A Safe Place's web pages to the major search engines, making it possible for people to find the organization's site by typing keywords related to its own services. Position Pro's web site can be found at http://www.positionpro.com/.

Combining a user-friendly design and navigation with easy-to-understand content for its targeted audiences, the 'A Safe Place web' site should prove to be a very useful site for domestic violence victims as well as for those wishing to learn more about many of the related issues around domestic violence. The site features the agency's 24-hour HELP LINE number - 847.249.4450; TTY 847.249.6557 - on every page. Information about numerous ways of supporting the nonprofit agency that serves residents of Lake, McHenry and northern Cook counties, from volunteering to donating shelter needs can be easily accessed. News and events, including registration information for volunteer and professional training, is continually updated.

A Safe Place provided 13,650 nights of shelter to nearly 500 women and children in the past year. The nonprofit agency offers individual and group counseling as well as children's counseling programs that are attended by an additional 2,100 residents in the area they serve. Staff and trained volunteers provide assistance to domestic violence victims seeking nearly 2,000 orders of protection through the Lake County Courthouse annually. A Safe Place is the only nonprofit agency providing abuser treatment services in Lake County.
